Membership of the Association is open to all practising and qualified individuals working within Forensic Toxicology and associated job roles.

Professional Membership

Professional Membership (Practicing) is open to those individuals with an appropriate science degree who are practicing forensic toxicologists with at least 4 years experience in a role pertaining to forensic toxicology.

Professional Membership (Non-practicing) is open to those individuals with an appropriate science degree and at least 4 years experience in a role pertaining to forensic toxicology who no longer practice as forensic toxicologists but remain active in the field of forensic toxicology.

Membership Fee: £20

Associate Membership

Associate Membership is open to those individuals with an appropriate science degree who are practicing forensic toxicologists with less than 4 years experience in a role pertaining to forensic toxicology.

Membership Fee: £10

Affiliate Membership

Affiliate membership is open to those individuals who are professionally linked to the field of forensic toxicology (for example, pathologists/medical examiners) but are not actively involved in forensic toxicology casework and to post-graduate students studying in the field of forensic toxicology (students are required to indicate ‘student’ on their application form).

A summary statement of the nature of qualifications and experience should accompany all applications.  

All applicants MUST be sponsored by two Professional Members of UKIAFT.

All Application forms and Sponsors forms must be received by the UKIAFT Secretary at least two weeks prior to the meeting at which the applications will be considered.

The annual subscription is due on confirmation of acceptance of membership and on each succeeding January 1st. Any member joining after 1st November will not be charged for membership until January of the following year.

Note: Professional (Practicing) members, Professional (Non-practicing) members and Associate members can attend UKIAFT Business meetings.
Affiliate members are not permitted to attend UKIAFT Business meetings.
Only Professional (Practicing) members have voting rights at the UKIAFT Business meetings. Professional (Non-practicing) members, Associate members and Affiliate members have no voting rights at the UKIAFT Business meetings.
