Marcus Donohue BSc (Hons) has over 25 years of professional experience in the field of analytical and interpretative forensic toxicology. He commenced his career with the former Home Office Forensic Science Service (FSS), where he was trained to provide expert witness testimony in criminal and Coronial proceedings. His casework encompassed a wide range of offences, including those under the Road Traffic Act 1988, DFSA, homicides, suspicious deaths and assaults.
Marcus is employed by Key Forensic Services Ltd (KFS), one of the principal providers of forensic services in England and Wales as Scientific Lead within toxicology. At KFS, he designed, managed and implemented an ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accredited forensic toxicology service that strengthened support for the Criminal Justice System in road traffic investigations.
He represents the Association of Forensic Service Providers (AFSP) Toxicology Group and contributes to the Office of the Forensic Science Regulator (OFSR) advisory panel for DTN-102 (Analysis and Reporting of Forensic Specimens under Section 5A of the RTA 1988). He maintains professional membership with the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC), the Chartered Society of Forensic Sciences (CSFS), the LTG, the Society of Forensic Toxicologists (SOFT), The International Association of Forensic Toxicologists (TIAFT) and the Society of Hair Testing (SoHT).
